Please the 6<sup>th<\/sup> bullet from our creditable compensation page:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Longevity pay when it is paid in periodic payments as the service is rendered. Therefore even for those who are not in TRS eligible positions, we need to collect information on all compensation.\u00a0 That said, reporting the same data elements for all employees would help standardize the reporting process. This also is a way for our employers to compare their payroll register to the TRS payroll file and verify salary totals match. To accommodate this Workday was configured to calculate the monthly pay period for August (September 3, 2019 pay date) with the new rate of 7.5%. The TRS employer rate was changed to 7.5% with an effective August 31, 2019 in Workday. This allowed the August biweekly payrolls to process with the correct rate of 6.8%.<\/p>\n<p>Retro Payroll Processing<br \/>\nThe TRS rate of 6.8% is being used during retro payroll processing and, depending upon circumstances, may need to be adjusted to 7.5% with correcting entries made by the payroll workstation.<\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/assets.system.tamus.edu\/TAMUS-IT\/TRS\/TRS-Rate-Chart-V2.xlsx\">Excel spreadsheet<\/a> provides information on how and when the TRS employer rate is used within Workday and will help in determining what action is needed by the workstation when reviewing retro reports and\/or the new TRS Rate Change Analysis report (Situation Codes A and B). The chart also reflects the impact on TRS Teams and FAMIS for reference.<\/p>\n<p>August 2019 Payment Corrections<br \/>\nThere were twenty-seven on-demand \/ manual payments identified on the August 30, 2019 biweekly pay date that were entered with the monthly pay period of August 1 to August 31. These processed at the new 7.5% rate and should have processed at the 6.8% rate. Workday Services recommends correcting the TRS employer contribution for these payments. A credit entry by the workstation will need to be processed on the next biweekly payroll since there was an overpayment to TRS employer contribution (Situation Code D). Non Wage<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The employee shows up on a report for the Benefit Partners to run and identify \u201cEmployees No longer eligible for TRS.\u201d The benefit partner would then turn off the coverage in Workday, if appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, CHG04793 was released June 2021.\u00a0 It now sends an alert to Benefit Partners when an employee has lost eligibility for TRS or ORP.<\/p>\n<p>The solution is for the benefit partner to do a Benefit Event (type = \u201cTRS\u201d) to turn off the coverage if no longer TRS eligible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The report is available in BusinessObjects in the following public folder: TAMUS Publications &gt; up records are no longer written for Hours \/ Days Worked Adjustments.<\/p>\n<p>Currently we provide estimated Hours\/ Days Worked for working retirees.\u00a0\u00a0The formula for computing the estimated Hours and Employment Type (Full or Part Time)\u00a0 will be different depending on whether the retiree has a TRSS deduction. \u00a0 The only time\u00a0 a Working Retiree is set to &#8216;Full Time is when the working retiree has a TRS Surcharge deduction.\u00a0 If a working retiree is Budgeted and 100 percent he will get set to Part Time without a TRS Surcharge deduction.\u00a0 If a working retiree has hours that are more than 50 percent then the working retiree should have a TRS Surcharge deduction.<\/p>\n<p>Presently it is required for the processor to manually enter the &#8216;true&#8217; Hours \/ Days worked once the month has been completed and before the 10th of the following month.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The processor should use the WorkDay report titled &#8216;Payroll Partner Time Summary Review&#8217;.\u00a0 \u00a0The Workday report has modified to include a filter for retirees only.<br \/>\nAdditional information can be found with the below TRS Update.<\/p>\n<p>Per TRS the RP (Active member) records allow the estimation of hours and then a subsequent correction, but the Employment after Retirement records hours need to be in by the 10th of the month.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0The required monthly Employment after Retirement (ER) report and all required surcharges will be due to TRS on the tenth of the month following the close of the calendar month for which the reports are prepared, with the exception of the August report cycle each year. To ensure that employees are properly credited with TRS, please ensure they are paid on the appropriate Earning Code(s).
